Meaningful Mentorship
Do you need a Mentor?
I have learned many skills over the course of my life, like riding a bike, for example. My dad taught me how to ride a bike, but I would not call him a mentor for that.
My father mentored me when I became his apprentice at his masonry business. First, I observed him, to see and study how he was putting his skills into action. Then, after having done that, I was allowed to make my first steps as a mason under his supervision and his critique. Three years later, after passing a written and practical test, I became a journeyman. Becoming a Master was still another 10 years away.
That is the traditional setup in the old world practice of apprenticeship. You can be mentored at something you have an interest in, something you want to become better at, or something you already know how to do but want to excel more at. A mentor can help us accomplish those types of goals.
For some, it is a necessity. Maybe your business is not running as smoothly as it could (and you know it, even if you might not admit it!). Life and relationships are stressful; it’s easy to become fatigued and soon your health is deteriorating.
Even if you’ve climbed the ladder of success and reached the top, a Mentor can help steer you to what is next. Here are 3 reasons to have a Mentor:
A Mentor will help you to find out what it is you want.
They will work out a plan with you so you can accomplish your goals.
They will hold you accountable in the process.
Do you need a Mentor? The answer is Yes! Everyone can benefit from having a mentor. Working with a mentor will bring success, balance, and freedom, and in much less time than if you did it by yourself.
